I'm Obsessed: The Socialite Turned Supermodel, Farah Zulaikha!

Once in a while there comes along a model who is so different, so mysterious, and so painfully gorgeous that you just can't help but want to devour everything about her. Not just a beautiful face, but a beautiful story to match. I have found that girl. She is more than just a model. Born into a family of affluence and privilege, Farah Zulaikha first generated a buzz as an avid young philanthropist and socialite. Before she even reached her teens, she was traveling the world volunteering her time for various charity medical camps that were funded and operated by her family. By the time she arrived in Manhattan to study medicine, it wasn't long before the glamorous middle eastern beauty with her huge chocolate-brown eyes, full pouty lips, thick waist-length tresses, and never-ending legs caught the attention of the world of fashion. She is the most recognizable muse of famed fashion photographer Damon Hall-Booth and became a staple in the international couture shows for her fiercely exotic look and impossibly thin yet curvy body. She was once described by Tyra Banks as "beautiful beyond belief" when she was handpicked by Miss Banks herself to take part in The Tyra Banks Show's premiere episode in New York City. That followed by campaigns for Sephora and A Peace Treaty. After a slew of editorials and covers, Farah Zulaikha signed on to be the face of NYC's own Zhozet. Farah Zulaikha was named the muse of the flashy and often times outspoken buzzworthy young designer VH1 Glam God Indashio's S/S 2010 Collection, famously closing his show in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week to thunderous applause. Glam God Indashio and Farah Zulaikha as a designer/muse pair gained notoriety in the gossip rags as best friends soon afterwards. The subsequent appearances at several high-profile industry events together and their growing popularity among the NYC fashion and nightlife circuit prompted Indashio to famously declare of his muse in Star Bulletin, "she will wear anything I put her in. I feel like Bob Mackie and she is my Cher." And thus, a new sort of supermodel was born. Not like the quiet, suttle mannequins of old, Farah Zulaikha is a POP CULTURE supermodel. Behind the beauty, behind the photos is her story and persona, cause celebre for instant fascination. Now she is one of the most in-demand beauties gracing almost every red carpet, having taken New York by storm and most recently gracing the runway in India International Fashion Week. From runway diva, to ingenue, to edgy editorial, Farah Zulaikha never ceases to amaze with her versatility. Enjoy the shots, I can't wait to see more of this girl!
